My Approach
Gestalt Psychotherapy and its Role in Society
The focus of Gestalt therapy is to increase individual awareness and thereby increase the ability to make meaningful choices—choices grounded in awareness responsibility and existential realities.
Gestalt therapy is intended to break down habitual thinking, conformity, and repression, which are seen as root causes of psychological disease. Gestalt therapy encourages individuals to take responsibility for their own life, and foster clarity through increased awareness and psychological growth. Gestalt Therapy does not position itself as being for or against society, or for or against religious belief systems; it maintains its freedom to stay true to its own basic world view.
I believe that therapy is working when individuals become aware of the choices available to them and take ownership of those choices. I help clients accept where they are now so they can make conscious, intentional decisions about their future. There is no goal to influence how clients do this in regard to society or spirituality. All are welcome.
Gestalt Therapy helps treat Depression, Anxiety, Loneliness, ADHD, Lifestyle and Wellness, Mindset and Emotion Regulation, Habit Development, and Self Esteem and Confidence.
